Position: Financial Controller - Corporate Governance & Internal Audit
Locations: Ellesmere Port
Hours: Monday - Friday (9am-5.30pm)
Salary: £Competitive + Bonus and Additional Benefits
Purpose of Role.
The role with be 1 of the 3 Financial Controllers within the business with specific responsibility for the Corporate Governance, Internal Audit and the implementation of key financial projects within the company.
Corporate Governance
Developing, maintaining, and updating the governance framework
Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and regulation pertaining to the Group
Reviewing current business processes to ensure their effectiveness for compliance
Making recommendations for improvement to existing business practice
Working closely with the Senior Management Team to share reports, findings, and recommendations
Internal Audit
Develop a detailed understanding of the business processes across the Group to enable the implementation of a full internal audit process across the business.
Performing risk assessments on key business activities and using this information to guide what should be covered in the audit.
Anticipating emerging issues through research and interviews and deciding how to best deal with them.
Agreeing recommendations with relevant staff members to make improvements to operations.
Preparing reports to highlight issues and problems for discussion with the Senior Management Team.
Assessing how well the business is complying to rules and regulations and informing senior management of issues that need addressing.
Project Implementation
Responsible for the project management of the transition of SAGE 200 to SAGE X3: -
Leading the planning and implementation of the project.
Defining the project scope and goals.
Planning and scheduling project timelines with resource planning and allocation.
Reporting progress on a regular basis to senior management
Continual evaluation of project delivery to ensure time tracking and delivery.
Skills and Experience
A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc)
5-10 year's experience in financial management
Experience of computerised accounting software and an aptitude for system improvements and developments
Ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
