Finance Officer - 6 month contract

This role will be working from an incredible office location in Watford

Salary: £25,000 - £31,000 depending on experience

Our client is a leading third sector organisation who are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their amazing team based in Watford. This role will be required to ensure timely payments, according to the plan set by the Finance Manager, utilising the agreed standards and controls established to apply across the charity.

• Adhere to process and control frameworks for AP, AR and credit control which aligns with the company's strategic objectives

• Progress for payment supplier invoices, volunteer payments; consolidated billing; payment runs and Accounts Receivable, running AIM invoices; allocating cash received through Voluntary Income and Services

• Respond to queries, adhering to and meeting deadlines KPI?s and SLAs.

• By supporting the development, implementation and enhancement of relevant systems and processes to ensure that these are consistent with our strategic objectives. Such systems must include a mix of audits, self-checks and blended learning methods which support organisational efficiency

• Support the collection, input, analysis and presentation of financial data for financial reporting.

• Perform monthly procedures as required including running, reviewing and issuing financial reports, also to support internal and external audit purposes

• Support the development, implementation and review of standard reporting, to enable senior management and Trustees to monitor organisational performance against key performance indicators

• Actively aim to improve skills across the area and working collaboratively to ensure effective cross-functional working when needed.

• Commit to high professional standards and continuous development in accordance with company policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Ideal candidates will have previous finance experience within Accounts payable, accounts receivable & credit control

• Ideally you will have a relevant finance qualification

• Experience of working within the charity/third sector would be a distinct advantage

• A valid DBS will be required for this role
