We are recruiting for a Finance Manager position
Purpose of Job:
This role primarily exists to lead all staff and processes which is performed by the Finance department, with the exception of the Management Accounting function.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage a team which has overall responsibility for Credit Control, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger.
The Finance Manager is accountable for the output and performance and this will be achieved through the provision of support and development to the Finance Department team members.
Working closely with the Financial Controller you will manage the existing team whilst driving change across the department, with a focus on improving processes and controls and driving efficiencies.
You will also provide Directors/Managers and staff with financial information whilst leading the transformation and updating of the Finance Department.
The Finance Manager is naturally expected to act in the best interest of The compant, their clients and customers at all times and work with professionalism and positivity.
Location: they need to be able to travel and work in the East Reach office (so ideally based Taunton or near to), but role will have homeworking elements too
Salary £30-£40k DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Working Conditions: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm on a rota shift basis. The majority of your hours will be worked during core business hours.
Working closely with the Financial Controller you will manage the existing team whilst driving change across the department, with a focus on improving processes and controls and driving efficiencies.
Key responsibilities will include;
Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions (total of 8 persons).
Maintenance of a full set of procedure notes and task checklists, keeping these updated and implementing improvements.
Meeting Service Level agreements
Reporting to the business
Working with the Financial Controller to implement changes
Ad hoc projects as requested by Financial Controller
Working closely with finance business partners, operational managers and other key internal stakeholders.
Key skills essential;
Experience in managing a team
Experience of working in a finance function
Able to demonstrate where you have improved processes and driven change
Excellent people management and development skills
Strong excel skills
Preferred
AAT or equivalent qualified
CIS experience
Knowledge of the insurance sector.
