Field Service Engineer
Based in Wellington, Somerset
A National company within the Waste and Recycling Industry is looking for a self-motivated, local engineer who is willing to travel for servicing, callouts and installation of equipment.
Job Role
Working on customers Waste Process Equipment and Plant i.e. Aerobic & Anaerobic Digestion Systems, Balers, Separators, Compactors, Shredders, Conveyors Following planned preventative maintenance schedules to maximise plant reliability Fault finding/problem solving on hydraulics, electrics including conveyors, motors and gearboxes and all types of recycling equipment Refurbishing of used equipment - workshop based
Installing new machines on customers' sites and carrying out training with operatives.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Fully kitted service van provided.
Person Specification
The successful applicant will have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and/or be qualified to NVQ level 3.
Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience is essential for the role, with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, conveyors, motors and gearboxes required.
While recycling industry experience is preferable, we can provide machine specific training, so is not essential.
You must be confident, well-presented and professional on site as you will be the face of the service department for new and existing customers.
Health and safety compliance is vital.
Ability to fully complete site report sheets
Good communication skills as this will be a customer facing role
Comfortable in covering a broad area which may include staying away as required and working alone but with strong office & technical support. Preferably a knowledge of recycling equipment, but not essential
Other Information you need ti know
Hours - 8.00 to 16.30
electrical and mechanical back ground but electrical is most important out of the two, therefore Level 3 would be preferable plus experience.
If you haven't a background / knowledge in recycling equipment then an Agriculture engineer would be a good background
Van, mobile and uniform all provided
National role therefore any overnight stays all have accommodation, food and drink covered by the company
OVERTIME: 16.30 to 19.00 normal time, after 19.00 and Saturdays (not often required) its x 1.5 and x2 on a Sunday (again not often)
How many holidays -
Circa £30,000 - £34,000 per annum depending on experience
