Domestic Team Leader

We are currently working in partnership with a well respected service provider based here in Ashford. Key Purpose: To ensure all cleaning and patient catering services are provided to the expected standards as per work schedules within the inpatient areas and wards. Organising and allocating duties to healthcare cleaning and ward host staff ensuring their duties are carried out to the standard of all schedules in a safe and courteous manner. To act as the conduit between senior ward based nursing staff and the services provided within set areas. Requirements for the role: * Supervise, co-ordinate, motivate, train and work with ward based cleaning staff and hosts to provide a quality service. Carry out duties in accordance with agreed Method Statements * Ensure your team report for duty in good time, clean and tidy. To maintain a high standard of personal grooming throughout your shift, leading by example. * Inspect, record, monitor and if required take action to ensure that high standards are maintained. * Responsible for the control and issue of store items, working in line with targets given. * Planning and production of duty rosters/allocation sheets ensuring that work is correctly prioritised ensuring effective and economic deployment of the team. * Ensure the sickness and absence Policy is complied with and that you complete the relevant forms. Complete return to work interviews with staff and review with any staff that breach the trigger point. * Develop and maintain a customer focused team. Ensure that any customer complaints are promptly dealt with and action taken to prevent re-occurrence. * Ensure that equipment is used safely and in accordance with regulations and company policies. * Report any accidents or near misses to your manager and follow the Accident/Incident reporting procedure. * Comply with all Health and Safety legislation which is laid out in the company's Health and safety manual, (COSHH procedures, risk assessments and manual handling etc) * Report all maintenance issues and hazards to your line manager. * Maintain the Food Safety and HACCP policy and check the ward records of temperatures etc and take remedial action where necessary. * Train and develop your team as required by the company and legislation to include; Induction, Fire, Health and safety and skills, infection control and check that your team are aware of these requirements and are working in accordance with them. * Record all staff training in their individual Training and Development folder. * Carry out Quality checks and Patient surveys to the prescribed frequency. Ensure faults are rectified in the agreed timescales. * Complete performance reviews on an annual basis. * Deal with any operational issues that occur during the course of a shift, handover any unresolved issues to your line manager. * Develop good lines of communication at all levels within your team, other colleagues and customers. * Manage security process within your area, in line with company procedures. * Compile and produce reports from available management systems * Perform any reasonable and practical instructions as requested by the management appropriate to the needs of the business. Essential: * This is a physical role and the post-holder will be required to be mobile for the majority of their working day with manual handling being necessary to lift / carry / operate cleaning machinery. * Good Basic Education including reading and writing skills * Basic Health & Safety * Working within a cleaning service environment / cleaning industry * Customer service skills including clear verbal communication * Understand the importance of hygiene and safety. * Very good understanding of Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint * Flexibility as hours may change at short notice.
