Director of Flight Operations - Europe
Excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated Aviation professional to join a successful, expanding global company as its European Air Division Director of Flight Operations (DFO). Working with a broad range of aircraft types and contracts, you will have the opportunity to develop your career when you take on this key senior role with our client's dynamic organisation.
It is expected that you will continue to spend some time on flying duties (e.g. line training, check flights) in order to keep up your operational currency. As part of the senior leadership team, you will report to the Managing Director and Accountable Manager ensuring regulatory compliance and safety of flight operations. You should be eligible for CAA acceptance as Nominated Person - Flight Operations. This key senior position plays a fundamental role in development of the business, with a specific focus on leading our team of almost 100 pilots, ensuring our clients receive the highest standards of service and ensuring the overall safe and efficient operation of the company's aircraft You will manage flight safety and technical requirements. Additional responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

With the support of Head of Training, overseeing flight operations and crew training, ensuring all regulatory and legal compliance needs are met.

Selection of crew, aircraft commanders and training personnel
*
Ensuring records for flight operations are up to date, with all crews properly licensed and authorised for their roles

Issuing of instructions to flight staff
*
Monitoring subcontractor activities and ensuring these are also compliant with all standards, regulations and legal requirements.

Implementation of actions arising from compliance monitoring audits.

Overseeing the aircraft libraries
*
Acting as company representative within the aviation industry and as primary contact with the CAA and Department of transport.

Developing, reviewing and recording of systems to ensure safe, efficient operation of all aircraft

Dealing with all accident reports via the Flight Safety Officer
*
Collaboration with key personnel from other departments to drive continuous improvement and development of the company, including the incorporation of novel technologies.
You will have a proven track record as a motivational and strong leader, using your excellent communication, managerial and interpersonal skills to ensure that you form solid, effective relationships with customers and employees at all levels. You will demonstrate confident, competent decision-making skills, strategic vision, an ability to adapt to changing scenarios and the ability to deliver results to the very highest standards, inspiring others to demonstrate a similarly positive attitude to their work.
You will have experience as a Nominated Person, hold an ATPL and have previous experience in an EASA regulatory environment. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of civil aviation regulations, standards and practices.
