Continous Improvment Manager

VACANCY: CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER BASED IN LISBURN Creative Composites is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive significant improvements throughout the manufacturing function. The Continuous Improvement Manager will utilise lean manufacturing tools to improve quality, help launch new products, optimise use of floor space, optimise output from capital equipment, optimise labour efficiency and improve customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have the ability to:- * Identify projects which will drive major improvements within manufacturing * Form and lead cross functional teams * Lead and manage the implementation of improvement projects * Identify operational constraints and appropriate action plans to address them * Introduce new processes and capital equipment which will improve quality and productivity * Provide analysis to support project implementation * Lead the introduction of new products into production in alignment with APQP frameworks * Develop optimised layouts for production cells * Balance work through each stage of manufacturing * Implement production flows which optimise flow of product through the manufacturing stages, utilisation of equipment and utilisation of labour * Define optimum batch sizes * Drive a culture of continuous improvement * Assist with the introduction of SMED activities * Assist with the introduction of practical problem solving methodologies such as A3, 8D or 6 Sigma * Measure and quantify improvements as they are introduced Key deliverables will be:- * Reduction of inventory * Optimised use of floor space through reduction in size of manufacturing cells * Improvement of OEE performance for key pieces of equipment * Reduction in movement of parts through each stage of manufacturing * Improved labour efficiencies * Improved production scheduling process * Daily tracking of production concerns at launch of new projects to identify and eliminate constraints The person will:- * Be able to quickly understand new methods processes * Be able to capture data to support improvements * Have excellent analytical skills to understand complex problems * Possess good presentation skills * Be an effective communicator at all levels of the company * Have excellent management and organisational skills * Be able to manage complex projects * Be able to prioritise activities * Be able to work to deadlines Education and Training:- * Significant 5 + yrs. experience gained in Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement roles * Experience of working in high volume manufacturing environment * Degree in Engineering or Polymer related subject * Formal training in problem solving techniques such as A3, 8D or 6 Sigma * Formal training in Project Management * Formal training in Lean Manufacturing
