HR GO Education are looking for a dedicated and skilled, supply Communication Support Practitioner (Level 1) for a fantastic educational institution based in Folkestone!

The type of candidate that we are looking for will need a particular set of skills and experience to really flourish in the role of a Communication Support Practitioner - they will need to be qualified in British Sign Language Level 1 and be comfortable working 1:1 with a student; supporting their academic and personal needs. Experience of supporting those who are deaf or with hearing loss and other additional learning needs will need to be demonstrated.

As a Communication Support Practitioner, you will need to be patient, considerate and dedicated to the role - showing that you can effectively interpret for efficient communication.

You will need to be a compassionate person with the ability to build a strong, meaningful relationship with the student; supporting them with their written work and ensuring effective communication is being demonstrated between their teachers and their fellow peers.

Requirements for the Role:

• Qualified in British Sign Language Level 1.
• Experience supporting those who are deaf or with hearing loss and those with additional learning needs.
• Able to work 35 hours a week during term-time - Monday to Friday.
• Excellent interpretive and verbal communication skills.
• An individual with patience and understanding of the needs of the student - building strong relationships.
• An Enhanced DBS (can be applied for through HRGO).
