Coach Builder

Location: Braintree - Earls Colne - Colchester area　

Starting salary: Up to £31,200 pa, depending on skill level, plus overtime rate

Own transport required due to location

Skilled Commercial Coach Builder is required by specialist vehicle conversion company.

You will be responsible for coach building and conversion of new and used vehicles. Complexity will vary from basic lining to full bespoke vehicle conversion. Duties include but are not limited to the stripping and fitting of all types of commercial vehicles from small vans to HGV.

Candidates should be able to work from engineering instructions and understand drawings and have significant previous experience of coach building work on passenger and light use commercial vehicles.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Construction of bespoke vehicle conversions.
• Fault finding and rectification.
• Removal and refitting of interior trims, light mechanical work.
• Upgraded glass fitment, removal and refitting of interior trims.
• General modifications to original vehicle build.
• Work to vehicle build specifications.

Required:

Essential:

• Read and interpret engineering plans and diagrams
• Fault finding and rectification work
• Removal and fitting of seats, panels, roof lining, door cards, interior trim, carpets, switch gear, light clusters and bumpers
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to work effectively under own initiative, or as part of a team to achieve desired results
• Ability to demonstrate high level of engineering industrial standards

Desirable:

• Fitting of on-board generators
• Installation of bonded floor systems
• Pattern making
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Basic 12 V electrical knowledge
• Experience of mechanical, woodwork, metalwork and composite materials

Qualifications:

• NVQ level2 or significant experience of Coach Building/Commercial vehicle conversions experience

Salary:

£22,000 to £31,200 pa plus overtime rate, depending on skill level - Good hours available

Hours: Monday to　Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm - 40 hours

Location: Colchester - Earls Colne - Braintree area
