Sussex Recruitment requires a General Machinist for their Sussex based client. In this role you will be required to set and operate manual and CNC machines / machining centres mainly CMZ, to produce components to the required quality standards. This position will primarily be an alternating Double Day Shift, however you might be required to cover other shifts on occasions. (The shift premium will provide you with an approx annual salary of £30k). Your Key Tasks will be to: * Set and operate machines * Work accurately and meet deadlines * Follow department procedures and follow Health & Safety Policies * Take an active part in improving and maintaining 5S standards * Identify and contribute to Company improvement activities The ideal candidate will be an experienced CNC Machinist, able to demonstrate a positive, proactive and flexible attitude to work and have good communication skills at all levels. You must be able to plan and organise your workload and work accurately to meet deadlines. The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative is essential. In this position you must be willing to work any shift pattern required both for extended and short periods, although this position will primarily be an alternating Double Day Shift. A good general engineering education, computer skills and a working knowledge of setting and operating CNC machines are essential.
