Children's Residential Support Worker - Full Time - Taunton, Somerset

HR GO Recruitment require staff with a social care or children's support worker background to work in a children's residential care home in Taunton, Somerset.

The children's home has a fantastic support structure in place and the role is to start ASAP.

The suitable candidate will be working with children with challenging behaviour & social and emotional issues so a calm, understanding nature is important.

The child/ren are aged 10-16 years and you will be expected to support them in all aspects of daily life including helping with homework and accompanying to and from some appointments and school.

3 X 14-hour shifts + 1 sleep in per week

Temp to perm option for the right candidate

MAPA training

£8.50-£9.30ph

Essential

L3 NVQ Childcare (or equivalent i.e., L3 children's social care, health & social care)

12 months previous Experience as children's support worker/residential support worker

The successful Residential Support Worker must also have a calm, patient nature, while being resilient and compassionate. You will need to be adaptable and flexible and, be able to develop good relationships with the children and young people that you are working with.
