We are currently working with our client based in Wisbech to recruit for a Charge Hand to join their team. Our client is a family owned business established over 80 years ago providing unparalleled supply chain solutions. Main Purpose of the Role Supporting the Shift Supervisor with effective management and supervision of the shifts operations, including distribution of workload for all warehouse operatives and FLT drivers including agency labour that is allocated to the operation. Effective organisational and communication skills and a flexible approach to working Days and Night Shifts and weekends. Must Haves Minimum of 1 years' experience of working within a Warehouse environment Fork Lift Truck Certificate, Counterbalance, Reach, Flexi truck licences where appropriate Must be able to work as assigned in either office or warehouse environments Professional in appearance Strong Leadership and Management skills with the ability to delegate and supervise individuals Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety of themselves and others around the workplace Ability to multi‐task and work in a fast paced environment Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co‐Workers alike Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines Manual Handling Trained Flexible in approach to work and adaptable to fit into different teams and environments Confident and approachable Must have own transport and full UK driving licence and own transportation to work Main duties and responsibilities Supervise the daily operations within the shift warehouse team and report any concerns around employee performance to the Shift Supervisor When covering for the Supervisor, managing the staff on shift, including the following: Absence management - Both Long and short term absence Investigation of Conduct matters and any relevant disciplinary action Capability management including retraining of any relevant processes and procedures Contact internal and external customers to resolve any queries or problem that may arise with paperwork Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone in a prompt manner Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Transport teams Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely and securely and reporting of any concerns to the Warehouse Manager To apply for this role, please click on the 'Apply' button below.
