You will be responsible for assisting the chef in the preparation of daily menu and running of the kitchen area.

At all times, Catering Assistants will act as a positive role model to all residents, treating all with whom he/she comes into contact with respect and decency. Catering Assistants will demonstrate commitment to working as part of the for the Abbots Diabetic Centre within the staff cantean

This role is working Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.00am

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY'S

To assist the chef in the daily production of food.

• To maintain the preparation and work areas in a clean and hygienic condition as all times and the thorough cleaning of these areas, including equipment after each service.
• To observe all statutory health and hygiene regulations and reporting any hazards you may encounter in your place of work.
• To assist the catering manager, head chef & catering supervisor in all aspects of running the kitchen.
• To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required.
• To carry out any other work reasonably acceptable within the capabilities of the post holder.
• To deal with contingencies/incidents in the Admin offices as required through line structure
• To help maintain service delivery, health and safety, security and control within the Admin building and around the centre
• Promote equal opportunities and zero tolerance to any form of discrimination
• Maintaining security processes and dynamics in the area of work
• Maintaining the company image via polite interaction with visitors for residents or official guests
• To attend any meeting as required

Experience working within a catering/restaurant environment would be beneficial.
