My client is a growing Engineering Company known for its focus on staff development and excellent customer service. They are looking for a responsible and friendly CAD/Design Engineer to join its team full time in Huntingdon. This role will provide good opportunity for career progression within the business, along with external and internal training programmes. Responsibilities You will work on one-to-one basis supporting the Project Manager on a variety of tasks as well as providing administrative support to other areas of the Project as required. * Liaise with all design touch points and interfaces with regard to design concept and project requirements * Create and develop accurate 3D models (using solid works) * Read and understand existing drawing data supplied and elaborate / define requirements by producing supplementary drawing information in line with top level demands of the product. * Generate drawings to suitable scales and detail for the production environment * Create and validate BOM's * Creation of change notes and issue control in line with the business processes * Liaise with production touchpoints to ensure products are manufactured correctly in accordance with the design requirements Skills & Skills & Personal Attributes The key prerequisite for this role (aside of the technical competence in the software) is an individual who can provide exceptional visual information, via accurate 3D models and 2D drawing packages and offer design inspiration that can deliver the outstanding value we aim to provide our customers. * A proactive and collaborative approach to design solutions * A good communicator * Competent with the SolidWorks Modelling system * Competent with MS office products * Understanding of Metallic fabrication processes (i.e. Laser, folding, welding etc) advantageous * Attention to detail and structured approach developing designs * Ability to present details and communicate requirements in a clear and concise manner Hours- Mon-Friday Salary - up to £29,500 depending on experience.
