POSITION: Buyer LOCATION: Ellesmere Port HOURS: Monday to Friday 9 - 5 SALARY: £25,000-£30,000p/a REF: VR/00575 A vacancy has arisen for an Indirect Materials/Services Buyer in the Purchasing Department of our international manufacturing client in Ellesmere Port. Key Responsibilities: � Manage a given portfolio of indirect material/services buying and ensure that all aspects from requisition to pay are managed within the required timescales. � Manage all stakeholders to ensure smooth completion of the above. � Supplier relationship and performance management. � Engage early with the business to ensure time is available to complete the Purchasing tasks. � Manage the complete tendering/competitive bid process. � Negotiate final pricing and all appropriate Terms & Conditions. � Complete all tasks and reports within AX including savings tracking. � Develop subject matter expertise in those commodities being purchased. � Support and implement the MRO strategy. � Support and assist Senior Buyers and management as appropriate. � Develop AX skills to be able to operate at Key User level. Candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills: � Degree level education advantageous but not essential. � Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. � Ability to work well under pressure � Good analytical and reporting skills. � Flexible, pragmatic, independent and deadline focused. � Negotiation skills. � High level IT skills. � Willingness to follow CIPS qualifications.
