Location: Walsall

£30,714.43 - £31,902.53 + Excellent Company Benefits

An excellent opportunity for a fully qualified Technician / Motor Mechanic required for our client who are one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector - they are looking for a talented and efficient Vehicle Technician/Motor Mechanic, this company forms part of an established group offering ongoing training and career opportunities. You will need either NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or at least 3 years work experience in vehicle mechanics. Vehicle Technician

There is a bonus scheme which is performance related

Over time is available dependent on business needs

Time and a 3rd- Monday - Thursday

Time and a half on Friday afternoon and Saturday

Double time on Sunday.

Duties & responsibilities

Fitting and rectification of mechanical components.

Carry out safety inspections / serviceability checks of vehicles including road test.

Test and identification of defects using diagnostic equipment

Removal and installation of vehicle interior and exterior trim.

Complete documentation on work carried out including job sheets, service sheets

Key Competences Required

Essential

  • Fault finding of vehicle electrical systems and rectification work.
  • Removal and fitting of seats, panels, roof lining, door cards, interior trim, carpets, switch gear light clusters, bumpers.
  • Removal and refitting of automotive parts and components.
  • Complete minor mechanical tasks e.g.: Changing brake fluid.
  • Carry out all duties with regard to general cleanliness and tidiness and assist in the clean-up of the work area.
  • Up to date knowledge of vehicle maintenance techniques
  • Understanding of and ability to follow circuit diagrams for installation and fault finding purposes.
  • Hold full clean driving licence
  • Time served Mechanical Technician
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively under own initiative, or as part of a team to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of engineering industrial standards

Systematic and organised; pays attention to the finer details.

Previous diagnostic experience would be an advantage and a strong understanding of automotive systems and functionalities is essential

A full and valid UK driving licence.

To be considered for the post you will have to complete a full CRB check to do that you must have a clean criminal record, you must have resided in the UK for the past 3 years at least, and have a complete work history, NO long gaps in your work history
