- Job Title: Attendance Officer

- Salary: £19,726.00-£20,552.00
- Working Hours: 35 Hours per week.
- Holidays: Term time only plus 6 additional weeks to be worked in the school holidays.
HR GO Recruitment are looking for an Attendance Officer who will be responsible home/school liaison and ensuring the highest level of attendance and punctuality from pupils. You will need to be conscientious, have high integrity and be able to work under pressure. You will need to be well-organised, practical, a team player, and be able to work independently.

The Role
- To make home visits both at the school and off sit
- Update school records, analyse attendance data and provide reports to school leaders, relevant stakeholders and other professionals. Disseminate information, both internally and externally in a timely fashion
- Liaise with pastoral support and advice on all matters relating to attendance and where necessary take a lead role in developing work processes to improve school attendance
- To provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet the attendance targets
Main Responsibilities
- Daily Management of attendance absences telephone line/email account and update attendance database to ensure that all absences are accurately recorded
- Make daily contact with parents of absent students (non 'at-risk) and update school attendance database, accordingly, following up any unauthorised absences and adding relevant notes onto the data base.
- Support pastoral team with morning absence checks within the school
- Check unexplained absences from previous school day
- Chase teachers for missing marks / register completion
- To monitor short, medium, and long -term attendances patters and report them to the Senior Leadership Team and relevant Head of Year line with the schools Attendance policy
- To oversee the strategies being used by the Heads of Year, Tutors and Class Teachers implemented across the school in order to approve attendance
- Co-Ordinate the work of any colleagues that might assist with the running of attendance
- Create and dispatch relevant attendance letters to to parents regarding unauthorised absence, attendance concerns and persistent absence.
- Provide administration support for initiatives to improve punctuality and attendance levels.
