Position: Buying Assistant
Location: Wirral
Hours: Monday-Friday
Salary: Up to £22,000p/a
I am currently looking for an Assistant Buyer to support the Buying Manager within a busy manufacturing company, the ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills, some experience within a similar role or is working towards a relevant qualification.
Duties:
- To support the Buying Team to ensure the demands of our clients are fulfilled to the highest possible standards.
- Supporting and working closely with other departments to deliver consistently high standards.
- Assisting with the running and placement of orders throughout the week
- Helping the team keep on top of orders being booked in on time and efficiently.
- Assume general responsibility for claims arriving from supplier issues and ensuring that these are settled in a timely manner.
- Provide support to the team for data collection and maintenance both on the Evolv system and Portal.
- Sourcing new products and speaking to new suppliers
- Helping prepare daily purchasing reports to assist decision making across the company.
- Learning about suppliers and where we buy from, supplier MOQ's, liaising more with sales team and listening for promotions and special deals.
- Suggest new products or ideas to improve a client portfolio.
- Suggesting new ideas for the business and team performance, improving procedures and efficiency, recognising a need for change in order to make your role easier.
- Taking on challenges wherever possible. If you feel you could take on a project or tackle an existing problem that we may encounter then be willing to discuss with your line manager and, if suitable, develop your plan through to completion.
- Taking a lead where appropriate and managing workloads and issues.
