999 Call Handler

HRGO are currently recruiting for an Emergency Call Handler on behalf of a Public Sector health organisation based in Bedford. This is a ongoing position with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Job Title: Emergency Call Handler

Location: Bedford

Hourly Pay Rate:

Weekdays 06.00 to 20.00 £10.40

Nights 20.00 to 06.00 and Saturdays £14.39

Sundays and Bank Holidays £17.57

Please only apply if you can cover all shift patterns, which includes Nights and Weekends.

Qualifications

4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or an equivalent qualification) including English
RSA Level 3, (or equivalent keyboard skill)

Experience Required

  • Previous call centre environment
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Handle traumatic, emotional and distressing situations
  • The ability to manage and support others during times of crisis -most commonly during an emergency call
  • Parking on site is available.

Do you want to be part of a team of Call Handlers responding to all incoming telephone calls, giving emergency calls priority over non-emergency calls; on a 24/7 basis, working rotating shifts basis.
