1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Child with ASD

HRGO Education are recruiting for a SEN TA to work on a 1:1 basis at a Primary School in Basildon, Essex. This is a full time position working with a Year 6 child. The school are looking to fill this position with a September start due to being given additional funding for the student. This role will require the successful candidate to be calm, understanding and patient with the student, whilst supporting their learning both in the classroom and in a 1:1 environment (sensory room, library etc.)

As an SEN TA, you'll typically need to:

• Follow instructions from Teachers to support effectively in the classroom
• Adhere to professional practice standards and legislation, including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies
• Support the student on 1:1 basis, adapting your approach on a case-by-case basis to engage students effectively. Some children might need support with personal care.
• Help children with learning and development

Pay & Working Hours

Seasonal or relief teaching assistants are typically paid between £9.50 and £11.50 per hour. Income figures are intended as a guide only. Full-time Teaching Assistants usually work between 32 & 35 hours per week. Starting the school day at 8.30am and finishing at 3.30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. There are also part-time, casual and job share options available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, but it may become permanent later upon school discretion.
