Qualifications: You must have an Engineering degree or equivalent career experience.


Experience Essential:

You must have previous experience of the design, manufacture and installation of vehicle electrical harness systems and have knowledge of Electrical procedures.

You must have the ability to read and understand technical drawings and circuit diagrams.

You must have previous experience of the design and development of vehicle electrical systems and associated mechanical components.

You must have previous experience of problem solving techniques to resolve current product and customer warranty problems.

You must have previous experience of liaison with engineering, quality & manufacturing departments and component suppliers.

You must have the ability to chart and present reports in a clear and concise manner.

You must excellent knowledge of PC software including Excel, Word and Imaging software.

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be expected to provide technical support and analysis knowledge to assist resolution of manufacturing and quality issues.

You will be expected to provide reports and recommendations to the project team in order to facilitate effective decision-making.

You will need to negotiate with Joint Venture Partners, Suppliers, Manufacturing plant colleagues to facilitate the implementation of engineering changes.

You will need to provide electrical technical support to a small flexible team of engineers.

You will be expected to analyse and recommend solutions to harness installation problems within time and cost constraints.

You will be responsible for the validation of new and revised electrical harnesses and components.

You will be expected to approve engineering release of electrical harness and component parts using the company's Engineering Work Order system.

You will be expected to be the Technical liaison with Partner Companies to meet project requirements and overcome manufacturing and customer warranty issues.

You will be expected to facilitate the introduction of electrical harness and components changes into a manufacturing plant.

You will need to prepare and present status reports to Engineering Review Meetings.

You will need to review and recommend action on electrical component suggestions and cost reduction proposals.

You will ensure product meets marketing & quality requirements along with current & future legal requirements.

You will need to understand and ensure compliance with company Quality, Environmental, Legal & other applicable standards.



Basic Hours: 40 Hours per week


Salary/Rate: Up to £18.50 per hour depending on previous experience, paid on a PAYE.
