Job Location: North East England Position: Manufacturing Engineer Department: Engineering Reporting To: Engineering Manager Job Status: Permanent Job Profile: Our client has a requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer within their facility in the North East, to support continuous improvements in the safety and efficiency of existing processes, to drive capital investment projects and new process design, whilst ensuring that the client requirements of cost, quality and availability are enhanced. Essential Experience: You must have recent experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment. You must have thorough knowledge of company manufacturing facilities, processes, equipment, requirements, etc. This role requires the ability to communicate with other technical personnel, management & shop floor personnel, so previous experience of having done so is essential. You will need to show instances where you have done this. You must be qualified and experienced in Time & Motion studies. You must have previous experience with applying Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve safety, quality & process efficiency. You must have experience of the control of Capital Forecast and budgets including familiarity with management month end reporting You must have the ability to lead and motivate with good interpersonal, organisational and planning skills. You must be able to prioritise work and keep several projects going at the same time. You must have previous experience of working within a team environment with minimal supervision. You must be fully conversant with engineering drawings and specifications and have some CAD experience. Job Description: The work may be specialised in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete a larger project. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, assembly processes and all relevant support documentation. You will be enhancing the efficiency of operations through process and equipment development. You will be expected to develop improvements to operational layouts and flow paths to reduce non value added activity and eliminate waste. You will be expected to develop budget forecasts and prepare Capital Investment Requests for machinery, equipment, storage facilities and tooling. You will conduct special projects to achieve improved methods, layout and workflow. You will prepare and complete analysis of new business requests and lead and direct project teams in close collaboration with Operations Management. You will prepare feasibility studies for appropriateness and cost effectiveness and submit recommendations accordingly. You will be responsible for developing new assembly processes for New Product Introduction. Essential Qualifications: You must be qualified to degree level in a manufacturing engineering discipline. Salary/Rate: Up to £29,000 per annum. The package will include numerous benefits including bonus, pension, etc. |
