Unpaid Leave, Can Employees Afford to do it?
National recruitment and business services Group, HR GO plc, asked just this question via a web survey in which almost 670 took part. 61% revealed they would not take a month's unpaid leave if their company asked them to do so.
In the tough times of 2009 where companies embarked on major pay cutbacks and large scale redundancies, many businesses were throwing out a lifeline to their employees in a bid to prevent job losses.
However, we are seeing encouraging signs for a more optimistic economic climate in the job market in 2010. COA Solutions, a UK business management and information systems provider, revealed that 51% of senior human resource (HR) professionals surveyed do intend to increase the overall size of their workforces by the end of 2010.

HR GO Recruitment Ltd Welcomes Two New Members to the Board
David Simons, Managing Director of HR GO Recruitment Ltd, is delighted to announce two additions to its Board with effect from 1 January 2010.
Richard Tillbrook is Managing Director of HR GO (Kent) Ltd where he is making a positive impact upon profitability since moving to the role in January 2009. Richard has been with HR GO plc for almost 11 years. In addition to his current role, Richard joins HR GO Recruitment's Board as Director, Southern Region, where he will oversee the southern companies within the business.
Scott Treacher, Managing Director of HR GO (Northampton) Ltd, also joins the Board in January and, as part of his additional role, will have responsibility for special projects such as assisting with the implementation of industrial contract wins across the Group and installing our new front office database.
