Jack Parkinson

Jack Parkinson - Non-Executive Chairman


After 17 years experience in the refrigeration industry, Jack returned to the UK from running a company in South Africa following the death of his father in 1977. He joined his mother’s business, PSB Recruitment, now HR GO plc, which she established in 1957.

In 1980 the business had an annual turnover of £1 million growing to £22 million in 10 years. Jack supported his mother in establishing a network of PSB Recruitment offices throughout the South East growing to 18 by 1988.

Jack’s expertise for refrigeration transferred into the recruitment business when he set up the first Joint Venture (JV) company, Refrigeration Recruitment Ltd, which still operates today as Recruitment Holdings Ltd. The JV model used by Jack in 1977 has become a tried and tested approach to business formation with over 40 JVs now forming the HR GO Group. HR GO is the largest JV player in the UK.

Through a programme of planned expansion and joint venture formation the business has developed into the £80 million turnover major plc Group it is today.

Jack became Non-Executive Chairman in 2010.

Jack has two children and has interests in light aircraft, developing Croatian properties, old cars and yachting.



Dr Hugh Billot - Group Managing Director


Hugh joined the Group in 1999 and has been influential in driving cultural and structural change aimed at improving business performance. He uses his vast experience and expertise to implement strategies which meet the Group’s objectives, manage the operating activities of the Group as a whole and to ensure that each of the Group’s companies maximises its profit potential to enhance the business.

He is a very experienced business leader who has demonstrated his skills and expertise in a number of sectors including steel making, engineering, glass manufacture, vehicle production, plastics, education, recruitment and business services.

He seeks business success by finding and developing talent. He is committed to training and continuous development to ensure staff remain competent and motivated to perform at the highest possible levels.

Hugh is Managing Director of both HR GO plc and HR+ Limited, a hugely successful specialist HR and training consultancy, providing transformational and transactional HR services to HR GO plc and all of its subsidiary companies as well as a wide range of organisations across the UK.

Hugh, who is married with two children, enjoys rugby, most sports including golf and researches and writes on a wide range of human resource and performance subjects.



Mark Kingston - Group Finance Director


Mark was appointed the role of Group Finance Director in December 2008. With over 11 years experience as a Finance Director, Mark will develop the finance strategy and forecasting processes that enables the Group to deliver its vision and strategic business objectives.

Mark’s main focus is the financial stewardship of the Group which also encompasses the evaluation of investment opportunities and profit streams of the 50 plus business in the Group.


Mark is married with two children; he is also a school governor and enjoys playing 7 a side football.



Steve Carter - Group Director


In April 2009, Steve was appointed the position of Group Director. Since February 1996, Steve has been Managing Director of specialist Information Systems and Support Company, Eclipse Group Solutions Ltd, one of HR GO’s most successful joint venture (JV) companies within the HR GO Group. Eclipse initially focused on IT recruitment before evolving into the profitable IT Services and Solutions Company it is today.

As Group Director, Steve’s role includes further development and support of the Eclipse business, delivery of IT and IT strategy, and development of IT recruitment for Group. In addition to this, Steve supports Board Members and Directors.


Steve is married with three sons and has a keen interest in all sports such as football, rugby and cricket.



Craig Vidler - Non-Executive Director


Craig joined the Group in January 2009, his main responsibilities are to constructively challenge business operations and strategically contribute to the Group’s development. Aiding in the performance of goals, setting objectives and business planning, Craig will provide independent views whilst monitoring and examining the executive Group activity. Craig attends monthly Group Operational Board meetings with a focus on enhancing HR GO’s profitability and business offer, to ultimately drive the company forward.


Craig, who is married with three children, enjoys fly fishing, rugby, golf and fundraising for Charity.

Paul Burbidge - National Sales Director


Paul joined the HR GO National Sales Team in 2006 and brought with him over 14 years professional recruitment experience in both the industrial and commercial sectors. Paul is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategy across a portfolio of divisions and identifying market direction and opportunities. He has a proactive role within the Group, implementing his vast knowledge and experience to win National contracts as well as supporting the many business locations nationwide.

Paul has a daughter and his interests include an eclectic taste in music and everything sporting.
