Your personal profile

As with any CV that you write, your personal profile should concisely summarise who you are, what skills and experience you have that are relevant to the role and any career aspirations you may have.

This is the chance to sell yourself in only three or four sentences, so the words you use need to work hard. Always mention any cleaning experience you have, as well as any related qualifications, such as a first aid certificate.

Flexibility is key when you are looking for a job as a cleaner, so be sure to mention if you can start immediately and if you are happy with changeable hours.

Personal profile example

Having worked as a part-time cleaner for the past two years, I now feel ready to take on the challenge of a full-time position. I am reliable, hard-working and take pride in my work. I have a first aid qualification, a full clean driving license and a DBS check.

Previous job experience

This section of your cleaner CV is crucial, although it is worth knowing that you do not need to have experience in cleaning in order to write a killer cleaner CV.

You should aim to focus on your most relevant skills and experience and explain how each of your previous roles and what they taught you can be applied to the position you are going for.

Your previous job experience should be formatted as below:

  • Job title
  • Name of employer
  • Location
  • Month and year started
  • A brief list of your duties and the skills you acquired while working there

Try to match your skillset with the desired qualities in the posted job description. Take a look at the below example from a successful cleaner cv template:

Previous job experience example

Part-time Cleaning Operative, London Leisure Centre, London, May 2019-June 2020
